Pegasus Club Christmas Party

December 4, the ExxonMobil Pegasus Club had their annual Christmas party.
The Pegasus Club is a club for all ExxonMobil employees and their families. It offers social get-togethers like brunches, called coffees, and holiday parties, a personal welcomer, who helps with the intial transition to Qatar, a venue to buy and sell items, like a classified listing, outings to areas of interest in Qatar, and many other services. It's been a great help in our transition.

Here's a picture of George next to a Christmas tree at the party. It was held at one of the Al Jazi compound clubhouses.

George had a great time! He got to decorate a cookie and eat it.

He made a Christmas tree ornament.

He saw Santa arrive on a camel!

Did you notice the camel handler checking his cell phone?

He jumped in a bouncy castle and loved it!

He got to meet Santa Claus.
George didn't really want to sit on Santa's lap. but was more than willing to give him a high five and a hug.
This video won't load. Here are some pictures of his encounter.

It was a great party! It helped us all get into the Christmas spirit here. Just yesterday George saw a Christmas commercial for M&Ms, the one with Santa Claus. I realized then that we don't see all those commercials here. The cable service doesn't show many commercials. So, for good or bad, we don't see the holiday commericals and therefore it takes a little more effort to get into the Christmas spirit. I think we'll be able to make up for it when we come to the US to visit family and friends over the Christmas holidays.

We leave next week, so I hope to put out another post, but may not. I don't expect to have much internet access over the holiday, but will do my best to keep up the blog.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
