I MISS THE PEACOCKS!

We've moved!  Not out of Doha. Not out of Qatar. Just to another compound. (This happened over the summer, the first week of July).Good bye QIPCO with your awesome pool, pretty good restaurant with really good pizza, "pay-man" at the compound store, parks in the sand and blowing dust. Hello Al Rayyan Village with your pool on the roof, no restaurant (yet), Megamart around the corner, parks with GRASS, and noticeably much less dust. The biggest influence on our decision to move was location. Eventhough Doha itself isn't very large, the traffic at certain times and places is similar to a major US metropolitan city center. We are more centrally located to all the places we frequent, the malls, the grocery store, George's school, the church, and other chruch members and friends. It takes just 15 minutes to get just about anywhere in the city. Another plus that we didn't anticipate was all the kids playing in the street, lots of friends and playmates for George. There are drawbacks, a longer and harder commute for Chris to Ras Lafan, lower quality furniture, friends still in QIPCO that we don't see as often, and no part-time maid (yet). Overall we are happy with the decision to move, but a house is a house until you make it a home. We are working on that. Still need to hang family pictures, that will help.

Here are some pictures of our villa(just a fancy name for a house).
The Front(we're a three car family)

The Back (and George's front)
