I wanted to celebrate his birthday this year with a more traditional birthday party, at home, with a few friends, some games and a homemade cake. Sounds simple, right? Well, in theory that was a simple plan, but the details were more time consuming and took a lot of work. I was pleased with the result and I think all the kids had a great time.
George loves superheroes more than anything right now. He loves to dress up as them and wear the costumes night and day. A superhero birthday party was just what he wanted. We invited his friends to dress up
and come "save the day" at his party. We played superhero bingo, sprayed the bad guys with silly string (eventhough half the kids didn't have the finger strength to spray the string),
played pass the kryptonite and musical superheroes.
The cake displayed four superheroes, Spiderman, Iron Man, Green Lantern and Batman. Those are his favorites and he has a costume of each. I decided to make the cake myself. It seems so simple. I researched, watched video tutorials and thought I was ready. Well, the cakes stuck to the pan and the icing was a little runny. It took me forever to ice and decorate it, but I tell you, it tasted great!
